Seafaring Split, 2016 poetry chapbooks by Jessica Q. Stark and Kiley McLaughlin

Action

For she who dried out of everything (Ada)
and she who milked her train ride for pennies (Ada)
and she who (Anita)
And she (Paula)

Oh, Paula!
You appear to be you appear to arrive
and yet here you are with your brother a mile behind
you smell him in the summer, that many yards hence

You might have your day wasted by intruders
you might be so sick of it, the dark gray eyes and walking over tracks
Paula that’s where he died, they all know it and they took you there still.
Paula in the non-breeze, you are so Paula.
