Heavy Feather Review at Paging Columbus – Columbus, OH

HFR is proud to play host of Paging Columbus on Thursday, September 6, 6pm-8pm, at the OSU Urban Arts Space. The night is set to feature performances by Luke Geddes, Matt McBride, and Tessa Mellas.

Luke Geddes was born and grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin. His stories have appeared in Hayden’s Ferry ReviewConjunctionsMid-American Review, and other journals. He currently lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he is a PhD student at the University of Cincinnati, with his wife, Steph, and their cat, Talulah Gosh. I Am a Magical Teenage Princess (Chomu Press, 2012) is his first book.

Matt McBride has published poems in Anti-, Alice Blue, Cream City ReviewDiagram, FENCE, among others. Currently, he works on staff at Memorious.org. His blog is inventionsofthemonsters.blogspot.com, and his chapbook Cities Lit by the Light Caught in Photographs (H_NGM_N, 2012) can be read here.

Tessa Mellas is a PhD candidate in English and comparative literature at the University of Cincinnati. Her fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in Crazyhorse, Fugue, Gulf Coast, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Lightspeed Magazine, among others. Her research interests include modern and contemporary American, British, and ethnic fiction, magical realism, speculative fiction, nontraditional workshop methods, multi-modal literacy, writer’s block, feminism, and ecocriticism. She is a former sychronized figure skater, has been a vegetarian for over two decades, and is an aficionado of snow. More at tessamellas.weebly.com
